91 Million Messages...
For the past 40 years Nlets – the International Justice and Public Safety Information Sharing Network – has been helping transmit mission-critical information to law enforcement. When an officer needs to check for criminal history instantly, when a first responder needs to know what kind of hazardous material is inside an overturned tanker, when a life-saving AMBER Alert needs to be distributed quickly, when an immigration officer needs to check citizenship, Nlets transmits the information. More than 91 million times a month. To more than 500,000 users across America.
With a heightened need for information sharing in a post 9-11 environment, Nlets’ growth has been explosive. New services, new uses of old services. Leveraging web services and off-the-shelf protocols to give easy, simple access to the justice and public safety users that need it. Partnering with federal agencies, Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Interpol. Pioneering pilot programs that give officers the right information at the right time, instantly. But, in order to use this information, the right people have to know it exists.

The solution: WalshCOMM is helping Nlets get the word out. The primary goal was in-reach to the state and federal representatives. By increasing communication to these critical representatives, Nlets can make sure that all users can take advantage of all the services available to them. We overhauled the Nlets’ member directory and user materials, created a fresh look for all annual conference materials and signage, and introduced an annual report that is fresh each year and routinely distributed to all members. We helped design a contemporary-looking and much more user-friendly web site – and update it weekly with new information. To help increase exposure within the justice community, we designed a booth, an agency video and a PowerPoint template to take to trade shows, expositions and conferences.
We’re also targeting exposure outside the membership. Annual reports are sent to hand-picked Congressional leaders. Press releases are sent to appropriate media. And by working with Nlets’ strategic partners, Nlets is receiving media exposure for new ventures and success stories. We’re pursuing industry awards to highlight Nlets’ accomplishments. For the upcoming 40th anniversary celebration, we’re inviting local and national dignitaries to participate – including Presidential candidates who might want to associate with the folks who are “center square” for mission-critical information sharing in the U.S. and internationally.
